I consider myself a full creative person, but a lot of time I found myself in hard bottlenecks where get a problem’s solution instead of being a productive activity, become a headache, I think it’s a common behavior when you let your mind fly to any place where it wants to go — yes, it’s sound like procrastination, but even as any bad habit; until you do not recognize it you cannot pass away from it.

That was my experience until I found on the baking; an enormous getaway route. So surely you’ll think, baking what? — well, baking cakes; let me explain it.

The kitchen has been for me a comfortable place, as almost all people who like to cook, I remembered my first experience baking a cake, it was a child experiment when I wait for my mom went out from home and then I went to the kitchen and made my experiment, I baked my first cake into the smaller bol my mom had and sharing it with my little brother who cried after taste it — I guess it wasn’t a good taste.

Now after some twenty years, it’s a family anecdote and for me, now the time while I take baking a cake become one of the best therapy I do to overcome creative bottlenecks, during the cake preparation process my mind get in a no thinking hall where mind acts as an observer, I just feel the process, I don’t use to follow measuring in my cakes just as my personal therapy I only want to stay go out of restrictive rules.

After my mind becomes like an observer I experiment how immediately fresh ideas come to me, ideas refer to the unsolved problems I leftover on my desk to go and baking my cake, and there appear two magical situations then, first I find a fresh and clear solution for the previous problem and second I can going back to the desk and deploy the solution with a cup of hot coffee and a freshly baked cake — delicious, no? Then my mind and taste finished happy for the final result.

Baking can be for all of us, I mean.

Yes, you do not need to be the best chef in the world or tried tons of pastry courses, the deal behind the act of baking cake is based on changing the focus for a moment, there is a momentum where the mind needs breath, and the only way, our mind has for letting us know it is blocking the ideas flow, yes blocking the idea or creative flow, then I suggest to you stop the current task and do something different, where you can shift the mind’s performance from the protagonist to the observer.

The observer state of mind is the moment where you aren’t processing consciously any thoughts; instead, your thoughts are flowing in your mind without limits it is the “mind’s breath” a necessary time for your wellbeing and productivity, so the baking time can be, going out to run, dance in your hall, or like in The Writer movie, get off your clothes (just a joke) but let you try thinks out of the blocked situation and let your mind breath.

I am 100% sure your productivity will be thankful for.
